6 Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Weekend in MDR

Love is in the air and we’ve rounded up 6 ways to celebrate Valentine’s weekend in MDR! This year, the special day falls on Monday so we’re calling it Valentine’s weekend. Makes sense especially if you’re planning a Valentine’s weekend getaway! If you’re local, no need to go far. Marina del Rey, aka MDR, is tucked along the L.A. coastline just south of Santa Monica. If you’re from out of town, Marina del Rey is where you want to stay and play while in Los Angeles. Our quieter part of Los Angeles gives us a more relaxed vibe compared to our neighboring beach cities. Plus, our location makes it easy breezy to reach L.A.’s top attractions. For example, SoFi Stadium is just 10 miles away. Santa Monica Pier is a quick 10-minute drive.

From gorgeous sunset dinners to unique experiences on the water, your Valentine’s weekend in MDR is guaranteed to impress that special someone. Marina del Rey is also the perfect place to celebrate the love of family and friendships. Same goes for “puppy love,” too! We’ve got plenty of things to do with furry friends in L.A.’s Marina. Unwind in a Healthy Way

Who says you have to stick to traditions? Ditch the box of chocolates this year and treat your special someone (or your whole crew of besties!) to a fun 90-minute yoga class on stand-up paddleboards with YOGAqua. If floating yoga doesn't float your boat, try a yoga class on Sundays at Burton Chace Park or a class at Yoga Nest . Lastly, don't forget a relaxing massage is always a way to win someone's heart! Book a treatment at Sisley Spa at The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey. Click button for more information about wellness activities in the Marina.

Plan a Picnic by the Sea

Did you know that Marina del Rey has tons of open spaces, parks and beaches so why not celebrate with a picnic by the sea? Order takeout from your favorite MDR restaurant and bring it to Burton Chace Park (pictured here) for a lovely day overlooking the Marina del Rey channel. This 10-acre park is not just Instagram-worthy in our opinion...it's also quite popular for photo shoots with its panoramic views of the water, boats and very often, fun sea lions napping or barking on the docks. Sheltered picnic tables, benches and paved paths make this a very family-friendly and pet-friendly location. Click button for more information about Chace Park.
