Kahanamoku Klassic Marina del Rey

The Southern California Outrigger Racing Association puts on this annual canoe event in Marina del Rey. Courses vary depending on experience level, but all put-in at Marina Beach. The full Open Race (advanced) runs 11 miles, starting outside the Marina break wall and heading north to Santa Monica Pier on a triangle course. 8 a.m. start time.

Halibut Derby

The Marina del Rey Anglers’ annual halibut derby kicks off with a seminar on Saturday, May 31, at 7 p.m. The fishing tournament itself is June 2-3. Register online to participate. Proceeds help fund MDRA’s outreach programs.
